The 31st CAPL Annual Conference will take place April 25–28, 2027 at the Delta Ottawa, providing an opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and showcase your work with colleagues from across Canada and beyond.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The Call for Abstracts is officially open!
The deadline for abstract submissions is December 4, 2026 (23:59 PT). Don’t miss the opportunity to share your work with professionals and peers in the field.

Due to the expected high volume of submissions again this year, acceptance of abstracts will be competitive, and not all can be accepted.
FRENCH PROGRAM
Une plage horaire sera consacrée à des présentations en français.
Vous êtes donc invités à soumettre vos propositions de présentations en français.
Il s’agit d’une belle opportunité de participer à la diversification de notre programmation et développer l’offre francophone au sein de notre organisation.
POSTER CONTEST
All poster abstracts presented will automatically be entered into the Poster Contest. The contest will feature two categories: “Trainees” and “Other”. Posters will be evaluated based on presentation, content, organization, and overall impression.
FELLOWSHIP AWARD
The CAPL Fellowship is awarded to one outstanding trainee, who is expected to give a solo presentation on an important and current topic in forensic psychiatry at the CAPL Annual Conference. The recipient will receive a certificate of award and reimbursement of expenses for presenting (transportation, accommodation, and registration fee to the conference).
Candidates are eligible if they are currently PGY-4, PGY-5, or PGY-6 in a Canadian residency training program. The deadline for applications is December 4, 2026 (23:59 PT).
